About

Kate French, M.S., CCC-SLP

Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist

I'm a speech-language pathologist, private practice owner, and passionate partner in your child’s communication journey.

At Unity Speech Therapy, I bring heart, humor, and intention to every session. I believe therapy should feel safe, engaging, and even a little silly—because kids learn best when they’re having fun. I take time to get to know each family I work with—their strengths, stressors, routines, and joys—so we can build progress that actually fits real life.

My approach is grounded in relationships and driven by meaningful goals that make a lasting difference in your child’s communication and connection.

Before launching Unity, I worked as a school-based and pediatric outpatient therapist. These experiences shaped how I practice today: with a deep understanding of how to support kids across settings and how to help families navigate the complexities of school services. I believe collaboration is everything—and that the real magic happens when caregivers feel empowered to use strategies in daily life.

I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Since then, I’ve pursued extensive specialized training in speech disorder therapy approaches, AAC, literacy, and neurodiversity-affirming therapy approaches—and I’m always learning.

When I’m not nerding out about speech therapy, you’ll find me hosting a Mario Party game night with my husband, attending book club at a local winery, or being bossed around by my 4-pound chihuahua, Chi Chi (always demanding more treats and new Lamb Chop squeaker toys).

I can’t wait to meet your family and join you on this journey toward connection and communication!
